Aspiranet is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) headquartered in South San Francisco, which offers a statewide network of innovative and multi-faceted services that enhances the lives of over 10,000 families each year. Aspiranet’s work includes four non-profit divisions in the areas of child welfare services including foster care and adoption, afterschool programs, mental health and family support services.
We provide support services and compassionate guidance to help individuals, families, and youth emerging from foster care stabilize their lives and become self-sufficient. LSS currently serves Sacramento, San Francisco, Contra Costa and San Joaquin Counties. Programs include money management services, case management in transitional and permanent supportive housing sites. Youth services include housing and case management services to homeless youth focusing on GED/High School Diploma completion, employment/income attainment, and life skills development.
EMQ FamiliesFirst does whatever it takes to help children in crisis and their families. We are recognized for innovative mental health treatment, foster care and social services that help families recover from trauma, abuse and addiction, and rebuild their lives. We fight for sustainable change and advocate for improvements in the local, state and federal systems that serve children in need.
The mission of Our Kids is to oversee and lead a coordinated system of care delivering excellence to abused, abandoned and neglected children and their families in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Through integrating valued personal experience in mental health, child welfare and probation services, Youth Empowerment Support (YES) provides opportunities and trainings for community and system transformation as well as direct support, groups, and leadership opportunities for young people at risk of, in, or emancipating out of system services.
Personal experience is valued and utilized in community and system transformation. Each young person transitioning into adulthood has the opportunity to engage and develop tools to reach their goals.
Wind Youth Services works with youth experiencing homelessness, helping them find safety from the streets and giving them access to resources to help them move from crisis to healthy functioning and independent lives.
Sierra Health Foundation is a private philanthropy investing in and serving as a catalyst for ideas, partnerships and programs that improve health and quality of life in Northern California through convening, educating and strategic grantmaking. In 2008, Sierra Health’s start-up funds supported development of HealthShack’s initial technology phase, youth input into the web design and enrollment of youth in the pilot program. The pilot – a collaboration with Wind Youth Services, UC Davis Adolescent Medicine, CSU Sacramento Public Health Nursing, Linkage to Education and FollowMe, Inc., was designed to improve health access and outcomes for marginalized, homeless and systems-based youth in Sacramento County. Sierra Health Foundation continues to support HealthShack as a project partner.
We provides services through the Parker Family Resource Center/Homeless Services Office to support the enrollment and attendance of homeless students in school and to assure equal educational opportunities for homeless children and youth.
UC Davis Children’s Hospital is the Sacramento region’s only comprehensive hospital for children. From primary care offices to specialty and intensive care clinics, pediatric experts provide compassionate care to more than 100,000 children each year and conduct research on causes and improved treatments for conditions such as autism, asthma, obesity, cancer and birth defects.
